You’ll be hard-pressed to find a footballer doing more good than William Troost-Ekong. Even before he turned his attention towards the world of sustainability, he was already donating part of his wages into a charity that fights neglected tropical diseases in Africa. His greatest pride, however, was representing his home country, Nigeria, as its captain: feeling the weight of being chosen whilst consistently rising to the challenge.

Athlete scheme?
Most football boot companies work in the same way. They find the most popular footballer of the season. Offer them a massive sponsorship deal. And pay them to wear and promote their boots. We didn’t want to do it that way.
